An assessment of the clients Software Quality and Testing model to identify strengths, areas for improvement, etc. These range from a comprehensive assessment of all aspects of the clients SQA Operating Model culminating in the development of a Quality Roadmap to shorter focussed assessments of the alignment of the client ‘s model with Metisure© to aid project delivery and quality improvement. This set of services also covers business case development for improvement initiatives and post implementation reviews to measure success.
The comprehensive assessment would normally be conducted where the client wishes to benchmark or establish a baseline position across their SQA and Testing model. This can be to verify an existing capability or maturity level and may be with a view to implementing a change programme to develop a more effective and efficient model for their organisation. This can encompass the migration to a full TCoE or QCoE model.
The shorter focussed assessments are normally at project or programme level where the client has an existing SQA and Testing model with which they are reasonably satisfied and may wish to look at Metisure© to add to, or optimise elements of, their model where testing services are being provided by Metis7 staff. The idea would be to combine the “best of both worlds” and give a consistent best practice environment in which all SQA and Testing stakeholders would operate.
Where change initiatives, large or small, are being considered the costs and benefits need to be evaluated and budget implications assessed. This may involve a separate budget for major change initiatives or elements of a programme or project budget where smaller change is being implemented.
In either situation it is vital to conduct a proper post implementation review to assess the success of the project or programme, whether the SQA and Testing model changes were successful and yielded benefit, and what lessons can be learnt to take into future projects and to further improve the SQA and Testing model for the future.
